Sathyavathi and King Santhanu are going on a boat when Sathyavathi
spots a golden fish. With great courage and strength she captures it.
Hasthinapuram is being attacked by bandits. The bandits are captured
by a brave warrior called Devaviradhan. Santhanu comes to the aid of
his people and finds out that Devaviradhan is his son. Santhanu declares
Devaviradhan as the crown prince. Sathyavathi is upset hearing this as her
plans gets destroyed due to this. For the sake of his father's happiness
he approaches Sathyavathi and promises her wish.Devaviradhan vows not to
get married. Shanthanu grants him a wish that he can be killed only when
he desires it. Shanthanu names him Bhisman. 24 years later...
Bhisman saves Sathyavathi's son Vichithiraveeryan. Bhisman punishes
Vichithiraveeryan and Sathyavathi protects him.Sathyavathi orders Bhisman to
bring the princesses of Kasi to Hasthinapuram to
marry them to her son.
Bhisman comes to the Swayamvara. Ambai argues with Bhisman regarding her love.
Bhisman tells Ambai to marry Shalvan and decides to marry other princesses to
Vichithiraveeryan. Ambai argues with Bhisma to marry her.Bhisman refuses to
marry Ambai and asks her to meet his guru Parasuram. Ambai goes on a journey
to find Parasuram. Parasuram comes to help her. Parasuram denies to talk
to her as she has come to justify Bhisman.Sathyavathi's gransons are born!
Vichithiraveeryan dies in a mysterious way. Ambai tries to kill herself in
persuading Parasuram to meet her. Sathyavathi is delighted by the arrival
of her grandsons.Naming Ceremony takes place!
The three princes are named
Dhritarastran, Pandu and VIthuran. Ambai comes to get justice. Bhishman
refuses to fight with his Guru Parasuram.Pandu, Kunti and Madri leaves to the forest.
Dhritarashtran is crowned as the new king. Dhritarashtran gets angry on Gandhari as
she has not given birth to his son as it been 15 months. Gandhari goes into penance as
her baby is not born. Kunti tells Pandu about her gift given by a Rishi. Pandu is delighted
to hear this. Kunti prays to Yama and a baby is born by his boon. Pandu names him Yudhisthiran.
